Born in Australia, raised in New York City, and now resident in London for many years, Lily is truly an international burlesque sensation!
"Elegant and slender, Lily is more in the style of a Lily St. Cyr than a Tempest Storm. But never forget that under that poised exterior burns the passionate heart of a fiery redhead..."
Her unusual upbringing in one of the most exciting cities in the world found her surrounded by artists, musicians, performers, drag queens, intellectuals, dreamers and divas - never a dull moment! As a child she even lived briefly in a theatre costume storeroom, where she spent many happy hours trying on wonderful outfits and taking bows to imaginary rapturous applause...
She went on to study dance and drama in New York and London, and to become obsessed with the glamour and romance of bygone eras - Paris in the 20s, Berlin in the 30s, Hollywood in the 40s... If she couldn't go back in time, the next best thing would be to recreate the style, elegance and humour of those past times in her lovingly crafted burlesque performances. With influences ranging from the brash confidence of strong and sexy screen sirens such as Mae West to the saucy British seaside postcard, the refined elegance of past burlesque queens such as Lily St. Cyr to the timeless, innocent sexuality of classic pin-up art, she absolutely revels in the sheer joy of the art of the tease!
Audience interaction is frequently a feature of Lily's shows - inspired by film stars such as Marlene Dietrich and Jessica Rabbit, she loves to tease and tantalise up close... Her passion for silk, satin, feathers, sequins, opulent gowns, fully-fashioned stockings, suspenders, gloves, corsets and beautiful high-heeled shoes has lead her to amass an incredible collection of costumes and stage wear in which to live out her fantasies - don't forget to visit Lily's photo gallery, where she models a selection of her favourites!
"As she swirls around the stage behind a curtain of ostrich feathers, she conjures up an image of sexy femininity rarely seen outside black and white 1940s movies..."
